How To Mail Your Website & Get More BusinessSubject: Success, Internet Marketing, Motivation, Software, WebsitesVictor Gonzalez Successful Marketing On-The-Cheap I’m always looking for inexpensive ways to market myself. By my very nature, I am frugal. I only like to spend money on things that I think will bring me great value for little money. I’m sure you can relate. The other day a friend of mine was looking for an inexpensive way to promote his services as a trainer and asked me if I had any ideas. I had a few, but I gave him the one that has been most productive for me. Here’s how the conversation went: John: Victor, how do you market your speaking services? Victor: There are several ways I do it? John: What has been the most effective? Victor: Hmm...well the one that always comes to mind is the one where I mailed out my website and videos to over a 1,000 people. John: What do you mean you mailed out your website? Victor: Well, I wanted people to visit my site, www.thelogicofsuccess.com and take a look at my materials; especially my videos. Since they wouldn’t go to my website, I got curious and surfed the web for a way to put my website on a CD. So, I found this software online that lets you “wrap” you website onto a CD so when the person receives it they can view my website. John: Do they have to be connected or online? Victor: No. The software takes your complete websites and again, wraps it up onto a CD. When the user puts in the CD into their computer, the website pops up and they can navigate and download from it as if they were connected to the internet. John: So you sent out the CD after that? Victor: I had a thousand printed and sent to the people I was marketing my speaking services to. John: How much did it cost? Victor: Well the CDs cost about $1,200 and I believe I spent another $2,000 on envelopes, labels and postage. John: Wow! That’s expensive. Victor: Yeah, it is…but think about it for a second. I was targeting a specific market where I was charging $2,500 for my keynote speeches. John: $2,500? Victor: Yes. And over the next six months after the mailing I booked almost 15 speaking engagements. This was a little over a year ago. To this day, I estimate I received an additional 5-7 engagements from that single mailing. So do the math. Let’s be conservative and keep the number at 10 engagements. That means I made $25,000. In more than a little over a year, at 20 engagements, that’s $50,000. (Note: I've since moved my fee to $3,500 and am still getting bookings from the original mailing. I estimated that mailing has made me about $70,000 in less than two years.) John: In-friggin-credible! What was the software? Victor: It’s a program by a company called 6Bytes. You can find them at www.6bytes.com The single user license is $39. Even if you don’t know how to use it, take it to your webmaster and have them create the CD for you and then have it duplicated. The software takes your website and creates an AUTORUN file which will automatically open up your webpage when the CD is inserted. John: Who did you use to duplicate your CD? Victor: I used a local duplicator. You can find them either locally or online. Depending on the volume, you should be able to get then at a $1 or less if you order 1,000. One I would recommend is www.discmakers.com. But if you have a local duplicator, I would use them if the price is right. I hope you found this info helpful.
